From humble beginnings...
WAYS was founded in 1979 as Waverley Action for Youth Services by a group of concerned citizens wanting to find ways to support and assist young people at risk.
Beginning service delivery from a terrace house in Bondi Junction, in 1992 WAYS moved to a purpose built youth centre facility at Bondi Beach. This facility continues to be site of the Youth Centre, a programme that lives at the very heart of the organisation. With community support the service has grown to become one of the largest community based not for profit youth organisations in the state, now proudly supporting offices located in Redfern, Maroubra, Bondi Junction and Double Bay and employing 46 permanent full time and part time staff, supported by a team of casual staff and volunteers.
Over the years, the range of programmes has expanded to meet a wide range of needs and concerns young people face.
