Parkour is fast-paced, energetic and fun! It teaches kids about strength, stamina and overcoming obstacles with your mind and body. Our professional instructors are from the Australian Parkour Association and classes are on Wednesdays from 4.30 - 6.30pm. This is a FREE activity for young people aged 11-19 yrs. Local photographer Ali Nasseri and Bondi Republic have compiled an awesome book of photos of our beautiful local area of Bondi. It is available to purchase from our office at a discounted price for $40 (retailing at $49) with 50% of the proceeds going towards WAYS. This book takes a unique look at Bondi's beach culture but also gazes behind the designer sunnies and sculpted torsos, into the Bondi neighbourhood. WAYS has been fundraising during 2011, for a much needed van to transport our young people to activities, excursions and appointments. At this time we have received generous donations and funding from; Variety Children's Charity, Bendigo Bank and Malcolm Turnbull MP. We need to fundraise a further $15,000 to purchase the new van. Despite our best fundraising efforts we have not been able to raise this last $15,000. Now the matter has become quite urgent because if we cannot purchase the van by December 15th we will have to forfeit the 2011 Variety Children’s Charity Grant ($12,000). Obviously this would be a major loss and we are doing everything we can to achieve our fundraising goal. The new van will allow us to offer more places to young people on our school holiday programs, camps and excursions. The van will also be used to transport young people to school and to appointments. We do hope that you are able to help us in some way towards purchasing the new van. WAYS is a very successful provider of programs and activities to young people including disadvantaged young people, but we are only able to do so because of the generous support of the community.
